Pokemon Roaring Red

Pokemon Roaring Red is an extensive GBA ROM hack created by Caves, built upon the foundation of Pokemon Fire Red. This project aims to deliver a definitive Kanto experience by making all 386 Pokémon from the first three generations catchable in a single playthrough, including every legendary creature. The battle system has been fully modernized with the addition of the Physical/Special split and the Fairy type, providing a strategic depth that rivals current generations.

The game features a significant rebalancing of the Pokémon roster. Each creature has been curated with updated movesets, and many have received stat buffs, ability changes, or type adjustments to ensure competitive viability—notably, no fully evolved Pokémon has a base stat total (BST) lower than 430. To complement these changes, the difficulty curve has been raised; every major boss battle has been redesigned with diverse teams and smarter AI to test your tactical skills.

Exploration is rewarded with updated overworld maps, rebalanced encounter tables, and an increased Shiny rate of 1/1000. The adventure doesn't end at the Elite Four; Roaring Red features an expanded postgame on the Sevii Islands, including new boss fights and Gym Leader rematches on Seven Island. With quality-of-life features like the ability to view IVs, EVs, and Happiness directly on the summary screen, it is a polished journey for both casual fans and hardcore trainers.
