About Front Mission: Gun Hazard
Front Mission: Gun Hazard is a side-scrolling action role-playing game developed by G-Craft and published by Square, released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996.
In Front Mission: Gun Hazard, you step into the cockpit of a Wanzer, a bipedal combat unit, as a mercenary. The gameplay involves navigating through various environments, from urban streets to desert bases, in a direct, side-scrolling perspective. You control your Wanzer's movement, aiming its weapons, and deploying special abilities. Combat is a mix of shooting enemy units and managing your Wanzer's parts, like arms, body, legs, and backpack, each with its own stats and weapon slots.
A key aspect of Front Mission: Gun Hazard is the customization and maintenance of your Wanzer. Between missions, you can equip new weapons, upgrade armor, or replace damaged parts. During missions, if a part takes too much damage, it can be destroyed, affecting your combat effectiveness. For instance, losing an arm might prevent you from firing certain weapons, or damaged legs could slow your movement. You also manage a supply of ammunition and repair kits, deciding when to use them in the heat of battle.
The game presents a narrative focusing on political intrigue and mercenary life, with characters undertaking dangerous assignments. You'll encounter a range of enemies, from standard infantry to rival Wanzers and large boss units, each requiring different approaches. Successfully completing objectives and surviving combat earns you money and experience, which are crucial for upgrading your machine and progressing through the story of Front Mission: Gun Hazard.
