Front Mission 2 is a turn-based tactical role-playing game developed by Square, originally released for the PlayStation platform.

In Front Mission 2, you take on the role of Lieutenant Shogo Ashida, who finds himself caught in a rebellion on the colonized continent of Noma. The game's core experience revolves around commanding a group of Wanzer pilots. Before each mission, you'll spend time in the hangar, customizing your Wanzers. This involves equipping different chassis, weapons like machine guns, missiles, and flamethrowers, as well as arm and leg units, each affecting combat performance and mobility. During missions, you'll move your units across a grid-based battlefield, carefully considering positioning, cover, and enemy attack patterns. Combat involves targeting specific enemy Wanzer parts – the head, arms, torso, or legs – which can disable weapons, impair movement, or expose pilots. Managing ammunition and repair costs is also a critical aspect of survival and success in Front Mission 2.

The narrative unfolds through mission briefings, in-game events, and character interactions, pushing you to understand the political landscape and the motivations behind the conflict.
