RoboCop 2

RoboCop 2 is a 1991 action-platformer released for the NES. It places you directly into the polished metal boots of the iconic cyborg law enforcement officer, Alex Murphy, as he returns to duty in a city overrun by crime and a new, more dangerous RoboCop unit.

In RoboCop 2, you'll move through several distinct areas of Detroit, from grimy back alleys to corporate facilities, confronting waves of enemies. Your primary method of dealing with these threats is shooting. You start with your standard issue sidearm, but can find power-ups that grant access to more potent weaponry like the Cobra Assault Cannon or grenade launcher, though these often have limited ammo. Careful management of these heavier weapons is key to overcoming tougher adversaries and the challenging boss encounters.

Progression in RoboCop 2 involves clearing each screen of enemies and moving forward. You must time your shots, dodge enemy fire, and utilize RoboCop's ability to shoot diagonally upwards or downwards. The game also features destructible elements in the environment and requires you to manage RoboCop's health, picking up medical kits when needed. Facing off against the new, aggressive RoboCop units and the drug lords behind the widespread chaos forms the central conflict you must resolve.
