Pokemon Run and Bun

Pokemon Run & Bun is a highly challenging Game Boy Advance ROM hack of Pokémon Emerald created by dekzeh. Heavily inspired by notoriously difficult hacks like Emerald Kaizo and Radical Red, this game is designed to test your skills with nearly 500 meticulously crafted trainer battles. Instead of mindlessly pounding through opponents, players face synergistic teams and unique movesets, making every trainer encounter feel authentic and strategically demanding.

The game revitalizes the Hoenn region by altering the player's path and making previously optional areas mandatory. It brings the battle engine up to Generation 8 standards (with some tweaks) and includes Pokémon up to Gen 8, along with Mega Evolutions, unique roaming legendaries, and custom field effects in specific locations to spike the difficulty. Boss fights, especially Gym Leaders and Teams Aqua and Magma, have received special attention to ensure every victory feels incredibly rewarding.

To ensure you spend your time strategizing rather than grinding, Run & Bun introduces massive Quality of Life (QoL) features. Effort Values (EVs) have been completely removed, and Individual Values (IVs) can be checked directly on the summary screen. The game includes hard level caps tied to boss fights, an Endless Candy item for infinite leveling, and a Repellent key item to toggle wild encounters. Furthermore, HMs no longer need to be taught, and a convenient NPC at every PC allows you to relearn moves, maximize IVs, and change Natures for a price.
