About Pokemon Emerald Enhanced
Pokemon Emerald Enhanced is a highly ambitious Game Boy Advance ROM hack created by Ryuhouji. It completely revitalizes the classic Hoenn experience by offering unprecedented freedom and replayability. Players start by choosing from 7 unconventional starters (Litwick, Beldum, Shinx, Ralts, Venipede, Timburr, or Spheal) and can select from 6 distinct gameplay modes: Normal, Hard, Easy, Nuzlocke, Hardcore, and a unique Frontier mode that drops you straight into the action. The game features a dynamic autoscaling system where trainers and wild encounters scale to your badge count on the first playthrough, and to your party's level in New Game+.
The hack is packed with mechanical overhauls and quality-of-life improvements. It features 684 obtainable Pokémon, the Physical/Special split, decapitalization, and the ability to perform HM moves without needing badges or items. For competitive players, the Genetic Code Mapping System in Lilycove City allows you to consign Pokémon to generate an Egg with perfect IVs and your desired nature. You can also customize your team's aesthetics using the Poké Ball Changer NPC in the Lilycove Department Store.
Beyond battles, Emerald Enhanced introduces a deep Follower System where romanceable NPCs can join you, providing passive bonuses and assisting in major battles like the Elite 4 and Title Defense. Exploration is further rewarded with a custom Achievements system accessible via your Journal, tracking everything from alternate story endings to overkill damage. Watch out for Wild Boss Pokémon—these rare encounters have a 1 in 128 chance of appearing (indicated by red names) and start the battle with perfect IVs, hidden abilities, and +6 to both defenses!
