Minna de Puyo Puyo

Minna de Puyo Puyo is a falling block puzzle game that arrived on the Game Boy Advance in 2002.

The fundamental gameplay in Minna de Puyo Puyo involves guiding pairs of colored blobs, known as Puyos, as they fall from the top of the screen. You rotate these pairs and position them so that four or more Puyos of the same color are touching either horizontally or vertically. When this condition is met, the connected Puyos disappear.

Clearing Puyos strategically is key. When a group of Puyos pops, any Puyos above them fall, potentially landing next to other Puyos of the same color and triggering further pops. This chain reaction is how you build up large attacks. Successfully clearing Puyos sends "garbage" Puyos — these are neutral-colored blobs with an 'X' on them — to your opponent's playing field. Garbage Puyos cannot be popped directly; they can only be cleared by popping adjacent normal Puyos.

Minna de Puyo Puyo offers multiple ways to play, often including a single-player mode against CPU opponents and various multiplayer options. The challenge comes from managing your own falling Puyos while anticipating and countering your opponent's attacks. Success in Minna de Puyo Puyo relies on quick thinking and the ability to set up chains.
