About Galaxian
Galaxian is a classic arcade space shooter developed by Namco and released in 1979. It puts players in the cockpit of a lone fighter ship tasked with defending against relentless waves of alien invaders descending from above.
The gameplay in Galaxian presents a distinctive challenge. Aliens march across the screen in formations, occasionally breaking rank to dive-bomb the player's ship while firing their own projectiles. You control a single ship that can move horizontally and fire upwards. Success relies on precise aiming and quick reflexes to eliminate the invaders before they overwhelm you or destroy your craft.
Galaxian introduced more complex enemy behaviors than some earlier titles. The aliens are capable of independent movement and attacks, often flying in erratic patterns or making direct strafing runs. Destroying them while they are still in formation yields higher scores, encouraging players to act swiftly. Surviving each wave means facing a new, potentially more challenging formation in the next round.
