Super Variable Geo

Super Variable Geo is a 2D fighting game developed and published by Japan VAP (VAP Inc.), released for the Super Famicom (SNES) console in 1996. It is a direct port and adaptation of the original Variable Geo series, known for its unique concept of an all-female fighting tournament with high stakes.

The game features a roster of distinctive female characters, each possessing a unique fighting style and a set of special moves. Gameplay is standard for a 2D fighter: players engage in one-on-one combat, aiming to deplete the opponent's health bar across a best-of-three-rounds match. The controls utilize the SNES controller's face buttons for light and heavy attacks (punches and kicks), combined with directional inputs on the D-Pad to execute special moves like projectile attacks, rush attacks, and anti-air techniques.

The core appeal of Super Variable Geo lies in its fast-paced, aggressive combat system. While lacking the more advanced mechanics of later series entries (like the V-System in Advanced Variable Geo 2), it emphasizes careful spacing, combo execution, and block timing.
