About Pokemon Too Many Types 2
Pokemon Too Many Types 2 is a transformative ROM hack set two years after the events of the first game (and the Groudon/Kyogre disaster). You play as a young trainer moving to Lilycove Town, stepping into a Hoenn region that has undergone significant changes. This journey features a brand-new story, a new villainous team to defeat, and a custom post-game, all within a regional Dex of 398 Pokémon.
The game's defining feature is its massive overhaul of the type chart. There are now 80 distinct elemental types—30 of which are brand new to this sequel—and Pokémon can possess up to three types simultaneously. This system forces players to relearn matchups entirely. To support this chaos, the game includes 131 new moves, 17 new Mega Evolutions, and unique type-boosting icons for every single new type.
Designed for a streamlined and challenging experience, TMT2 removes EVs entirely and implements soft level caps and level scaling to keep the difficulty consistent. While standard trainers are randomized to showcase the vast variety of new types, key battles like Gym Leaders and the Elite Four are curated challenges. Modern Quality-of-Life features are also included, such as the Dexnav, Infinite Candy, and a convenient Autoheal function directly from the party menu.
