About Pokemon Team Rocket Edition
Pokemon Team Rocket Edition is an incredibly ambitious Game Boy Advance ROM hack by DragonsdenTV, built on the Pokémon Emerald engine. It flips the classic Pokémon narrative on its head, placing you in the shoes of a lowly Team Rocket recruit starting at the general headquarters in Isla Inta. As you complete assignments and rise through the ranks—complete with a dynamic promotion system that changes your appearance—your story runs parallel to Red and Blue's original adventure. Your ultimate goal is to do everything in your power to reverse the canonical destruction of Team Rocket and Giovanni, uncovering deep mysteries and the true, often darker, nature of Kanto's people and internal conflicts.
The scale of this hack is staggering, boasting approximately 110 hours of content spanning four full regions: Kanto, the Sevii Islands, Johto, and Hoenn. The narrative bridges the three-year gap between Generation 1 and Generation 2. Along the way, players can engage in optional side quests to earn exclusive rewards and battle over 1,500 trainers. The game features around 700 obtainable Pokémon, including species up to Gen 9, canonical designs from the 1997 Gold/Silver beta, and dozens of new creations like Rocket experiments, bond evolutions, and primal forms.
To support this massive adventure, the game includes a wealth of modern mechanics and Quality of Life (QoL) improvements. Enjoy the Gen 4 Physical/Special split, infinite-use TMs, and HMs that are usable automatically straight from your bag. As you progress through the different regional arcs, you will unlock Mega Evolutions (Johto arc) and Z-Moves (Hoenn arc). Grinding is minimized with a Candy system at Rocket Bases, Vitamins that apply up to 250 EVs, and a Perfect IVs Scientist, making it easier than ever to build your ultimate villainous team.
