About the Oasis Series
The 'Oasis' series, known in Japan and Europe as 'The Story of Thor', is a duology of Action Role-Playing Games developed by Ancient Corp. The series is highly regarded for its beautiful sprite-based graphics, smooth combat mechanics, and acclaimed soundtracks composed by Yuzo Koshiro.
The core gameplay revolves around the protagonist wielding a magical Armlet (or Gauntlet) to summon elemental spirits such as Dytto (Water), Efreet (Fire), Shade (Shadow), and Bow (Plant). Players must utilize these spirits not only to defeat enemies in real-time combat but also to solve environmental puzzles to progress through the game's dungeons.
The series consists of two main titles: the original 'Beyond Oasis' (1994) released on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, and its prequel 'The Legend of Oasis' (1996) released on the Sega Saturn.
