About Exact Games
Exact (an acronym for 'EXcellent Application Create Team') was a Japanese video game developer founded in 1990. The studio initially built a reputation for creating technically impressive action games for the Sharp X68000 computer, such as 'Geograph Seal' and 'Aquales'.
They are most famous for their transition to the PlayStation, where they developed 'Jumping Flash!' (1995). Evolving from the mechanics of their earlier title 'Geograph Seal', 'Jumping Flash!' is historically significant and recognized by Guinness World Records as the first true 3D platform video game.
Exact also developed the cult classic 'Ghost in the Shell' (1997) game for the PlayStation, which featured high-speed action and animation by Production I.G. In the late 90s, the company was absorbed into Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI), where many of its staff joined the 'Sugar & Rockets' production team.
