Super Bomberman 4

Super Bomberman 4, released in 1996 by Hudson Soft for the Super Famicom (the Japanese version of SNES), is widely considered one of the pinnacle entries in the long-running Bomberman series. Building upon the success of its predecessors, this installment pushed the boundaries of the classic Bomberman formula with enhanced graphics, more complex level designs, and a host of new features.

The game introduces 'Time Bombs' that can be set for a delayed explosion, and 'Counter Bombs' which explode when hit by other blasts, adding deeper strategic layers to the traditional bomb-laying mechanics.
