About Sengoku
Sengoku is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed and published by SNK, originally released for arcades in 1991.
In Sengoku, you step into the shoes of a warrior tasked with saving the land from a dark lord. You move from left to right through various stages, confronting groups of enemies. Your primary actions involve attacking with your sword, blocking incoming blows, and jumping to evade or reposition. As you progress through the levels of Sengoku, you'll encounter different enemy types, from foot soldiers to more specialized fighters, each requiring you to adapt your approach.
A notable aspect of Sengoku is the ability to find and wield different weapons scattered throughout the environments, offering varied attack patterns and reach. Furthermore, you can collect scrolls that allow your character to transform into powerful spirit forms for a limited time. These transformations grant increased attack power and unique abilities, providing a temporary edge against tougher opponents. The ultimate goal in Sengoku is to clear each stage, defeat the bosses, and rescue the princess from the clutches of the evil warlord.
