About Pokémon Green
Pokémon Green is a role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, first released in Japan for the Game Boy in 1996.
As a budding Pokémon Trainer, you start your adventure in Pallet Town and receive your first Pokémon partner from Professor Oak. You then set out to explore the diverse environments of the Kanto region, encountering wild Pokémon in tall grass, caves, and water. Battles occur turn-based, where you select moves for your Pokémon to weaken opponents, capture them with Poké Balls, and gain experience points to level them up.
Your ultimate goal in Pokémon Green is twofold: to defeat the eight Gym Leaders scattered across Kanto, earning their badges, and ultimately to challenge the Elite Four and the current Pokémon Champion. Simultaneously, you are tasked with completing the Pokédex, a digital encyclopedia of all known Pokémon species, by catching at least one of each. Trading Pokémon with friends via the Game Link Cable is also a key component for completing your collection.
