About Pokémon Dragon Ball Z: Team Training

Pokémon Dragon Ball Z: Team Training is an extensive GBA ROM hack created by Z-Max, built upon the foundation of Pokémon Fire Red. In this total conversion, all Pokémon are replaced by over 200 iconic fighters from the Dragon Ball Z universe. From Goku and Vegeta to the most obscure villains, players can collect, train, and even perform fusions to create the ultimate team of warriors.

The game features a massive overhaul of mechanics, including 170 total attacks. Over 130 of these are signature DBZ techniques complete with custom animations, while a selection of classic Pokémon moves remains for balance. The world is filled with DBZ-themed items such as Senzu beans for healing and Capsules instead of Pokéballs, all set to a nostalgic soundtrack of Dragon Ball Z music that replaces the original score.

While the journey across new maps and battle backgrounds is generally accessible, the game offers a streamlined strategy system where type advantages are simplified (e.g., Fighting beats Dark, Dark beats Ghost). While the main adventure is easy for casual play, the final League presents a significant challenge for even the most seasoned Z-Fighters. Experience a new story where overworld sprites and battle environments have been meticulously redesigned to reflect the Dragon Ball world.
