Moemon Bonds

Moemon Bonds is a highly original GBA Rom Hack created by Fantaseed, built on the Pokémon FireRed engine. You take on the role of an amnesiac teenager—formerly a simple Latios berry-picker—who has been cursed by a whimsical Moemon Goddess. To break the curse, you must follow her eccentric commands: embark on a 'poaching' journey to thwart the world's 'Chosen One' at all costs, while simultaneously learning to persuade and comfort the very Moemons you encounter.

Set in an entirely new region, the game features a massive roster of Moemons from Generations 1 through 8. The gameplay is modernized with the Physical/Special split, the Fairy type, and moves from later generations. Battles are significantly more tactical, emphasizing Double Battles and a unique 'Summoning' mechanic where Moemons can call upon others for assistance. For competitive players, a built-in EV-IV display screen allows for precise team management.

Beyond the main quest, Moemon Bonds is packed with 'MOE' sidequests, 'Follow Me' events, and engaging minigames. The visual experience is enhanced with character mugshots that bring the story to life. To keep the challenge balanced, the game limits the use of revives and potions in-battle, forcing players to rely on strategy and the exclusive 'MOE' moves to overcome the difficult gauntlets ahead.
