Navigate X using the D-pad. The Square button fires your X-Buster, and holding it down charges a stronger shot. The X button makes X dash, and pressing it again while in the air performs a dash jump. The Circle button is used for jumping. The Triangle button cycles through your acquired special weapons and your regular X-Buster. L1 and R1 can also be used for quick weapon switching.
About Mega Man X3
Mega Man X3 is a 2D action-platformer released in the mid-1990s for the PlayStation, continuing the high-octane adventures of Mega Man X. In this installment, X must once again confront a new Maverick uprising, this time orchestrated by a mysterious figure named Dr. Doppler, and prevent widespread chaos across the world.
The main gameplay involves navigating through a series of distinct stages, each guarded by a powerful Maverick boss. You control X, who can run, jump, and perform a dash maneuver, which can be chained into a dash jump for extended aerial movement and reaching new platforms. X's primary weapon is his X-Buster. It can be fired rapidly, or charged to unleash a more powerful blast. Upon defeating a Maverick boss, X gains access to their unique special weapon, which often has a specific weakness against certain enemies or other bosses. Using these acquired weapons effectively is key to progressing through Mega Man X3.
A notable feature in Mega Man X3 is the introduction of rideable Ride Armors. These powerful mechs can be found within stages and provide X with enhanced firepower and defensive capabilities, sometimes allowing access to previously unreachable areas. The character Zero plays a more significant role, offering assistance and even becoming playable under certain conditions. Players can also find hidden upgrades like the Leg Armor, which enhances X's dash capabilities, and the Arm Armor, increasing his charged shot power. Collecting Heart Tanks and Sub-Tanks is essential for increasing X's maximum health and carrying extra healing energy.
