About Home Alone
Home Alone is a platform-adventure game based on the popular movie of the same name. You take on the role of Kevin McCallister, a young boy accidentally left behind by his family during the Christmas holidays. His house becomes the target of two burglars, known as the Wet Bandits, Harry and Marv, and it's up to Kevin to protect himself and his belongings.
The core gameplay in Home Alone involves navigating Kevin through various rooms of his house and its surroundings. You'll need to collect items scattered throughout the levels, such as marbles, toy cars, ice buckets, and even a blowtorch. These items are then used to set up a series of elaborate traps designed to hinder, stun, or injure the approaching burglars. Your main objective is to delay Harry and Marv long enough to prevent them from reaching certain points in the house or stealing valuable items.
Each stage in Home Alone presents a timed challenge. The burglars are constantly advancing, and you must act quickly to prepare your defenses. You can also use certain items directly, like throwing a snowball or using a fire extinguisher to temporarily blind them. Avoiding direct confrontation is key; Kevin is not a fighter, so relying on his wits and the environment to create obstacles is the primary strategy for survival and success in Home Alone.
The game captures the spirit of Kevin's ingenuity from the film. You'll find yourself jumping over obstacles, ducking behind furniture to hide, and carefully placing traps in doorways or hallways. Successfully triggering a trap causes the burglars to react in specific ways, buying you precious time. Successfully defending the house in Home Alone requires planning, quick reflexes, and a good understanding of how each item can be used to your advantage against the intruders.
