About Guardian Heroes
Guardian Heroes is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up released for the Sega Saturn in the mid-1990s.
You play as one of several heroes, wielding swords, axes, and powerful spells to clear stages filled with goblins, orcs, and other fantasy creatures. Combat involves standard attacks, but also powerful magic spells that consume MP, and a unique 'jump attack' that can knock enemies back. The action unfolds on a multi-plane battlefield, allowing you to move between foreground and background layers to dodge attacks or flank foes.
Beyond the brawling, Guardian Heroes weaves in light RPG elements. You can level up your characters, increasing their stats, and find new weapons.
