About Ghostbusters

Ghostbusters is a simulation and action-adventure game, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989 by Activision. It aims to replicate the experience of running your own paranormal investigation agency.

The core loop involves patrolling the streets of New York City in the iconic Ecto-1. When ghosts appear, you switch to a side-scrolling view where you must aim your proton streams to weaken them before deploying a ghost trap to capture them. Capturing ghosts earns you money, which is essential for progression in Ghostbusters.

Beyond ghost hunting, you manage the business side of Ghostbusters. You'll need to spend your earnings on upgrading your proton packs, purchasing more traps, and improving your car's speed and capacity. The game tracks your team's strength and the city's overall ghost activity, pushing you to prepare for the final confrontation with Gozer by building your resources and reputation.
