Chocobo's Dungeon 2

Chocobo's Dungeon 2 is a roguelike dungeon crawler that came out for the PlayStation in the late 1990s.

In Chocobo's Dungeon 2, you take on the role of Chocobo, who is trying to find their lost friend, Popoi. Your journey takes you through a series of randomly generated dungeons. Each floor presents new layouts, monsters, and treasures. You must descend to the bottom of each dungeon level within a set time limit to find the exit and move deeper. Combat involves basic attacks and using a wide array of items you find within the dungeons. When you are hit by an enemy attack, you might drop some of the items you are carrying, forcing you to decide whether to try and recover them or press on. As you defeat enemies and gain experience, Chocobo levels up, allowing you to choose which of your stats to improve, adding a layer of customization to your character's growth.

A distinctive feature in Chocobo's Dungeon 2 is the 'Memory' system. This allows you to select certain items or abilities to carry over between dungeon runs, which can help you tackle later challenges with a bit more preparation. The game's narrative unfolds as you progress through different themed dungeons, encountering various characters and obstacles.
