About China Gate
China Gate is a vibrant side-scrolling action-platformer released in 1988 by Technos, the legendary studio behind 'Double Dragon.'
Loosely based on the classic Chinese epic 'Journey to the West,' the game allows you to choose one of three unique heroes: Gocoo (the monkey king), Hakai (the pig-man), or Gojoe (the water-demon). Each character wields a different weapon and possesses distinct, screen-clearing magic attacks.
Players battle through stages filled with mythological monsters and powerful bosses, combining fast-paced beat 'em up combat with tricky platforming challenges. You can collect orbs from defeated enemies to power your special magic. The game is celebrated for its colorful graphics, memorable characters, and engaging two-player cooperative mode.
