Castlevania Chronicles is an action-platformer released for the PlayStation in 2001. It serves as a port of the highly regarded 1993 PC Engine CD game, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, bringing its gothic horror adventure to a new audience with updated visuals.

In Castlevania Chronicles, you step into the boots of Richter Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont clan tasked with venturing into the dark domain of Count Dracula. Your primary mission is to infiltrate his sprawling castle, overcome its numerous monstrous inhabitants, and put an end to his evil reign. You progress by moving through distinct stages, each filled with enemies, environmental hazards, and hidden secrets.

Gameplay centers on precise platforming and combat. You can move left and right, jump, and strike with your whip, the iconic Belmont weapon. Additionally, you can collect and use a variety of sub-weapons, such as the holy water, axe, and cross, each with its own tactical application against different foes.
