About the NBA Jam Series
NBA Jam is a basketball arcade game that burst onto the scene in 1993, developed by Midway. It quickly became a hit in arcades and was later ported to home consoles like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis.
This iteration of NBA Jam simplified basketball down to its most explosive elements: 2-on-2 action. You pick from 29 NBA teams, each with two players. The gameplay focuses on fast-paced offense, allowing for spectacular dunks, alley-oops, and long-range shots. A key mechanic is the 'on fire' state, where a player who makes several shots in a row becomes imbued with unlimited turbo and increased accuracy, making them nearly unstoppable.
