The studio is most famous for creating the legendary 'Infinity' series of visual novels. This series began with Never 7: The End of Infinity and became iconic with the release of Ever17: The Out of Infinity, a title widely regarded as one of the greatest visual novels ever made. These games were groundbreaking for their use of multiple character perspectives and complex sci-fi plots involving concepts like time loops, consciousness transfer, and quantum mechanics. They required players to complete multiple character routes to fully unravel a central, mind-bending mystery, setting a new standard for narrative depth and player engagement in the genre.

Beyond their landmark 'Infinity' series (which also includes titles like Remember11: The Age of Infinity), KID also developed a wide variety of other games. They were particularly known for their prolific output of ren'ai (dating simulation) games on platforms like the Game Boy and PlayStation, such as the classic Pocket Love. In a complete departure from their usual style, they also developed the bizarre and now-iconic action game Pepsiman for the PlayStation, a cult classic famous for its absurd premise and fast-paced gameplay, showcasing the studio's hidden versatility.

Despite a portfolio of critically acclaimed and beloved titles, KID faced financial difficulties and unfortunately filed for bankruptcy in 2006. However, the legacy of their work endures. The rights to many of their intellectual properties, including the 'Infinity' series, were acquired by the company CyberFront. Key staff members from KID would also go on to form the development studio 5pb., which has continued to create new visual novels and adventure games in a similar spirit. The influence of KID is undeniable, and their classic titles remain cherished as high-water marks for interactive storytelling in video games.
